Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, a borough of New York city. He went to Wharton School and received a Bachelor’s degree in economics. Post that, he took charge of his family business in real-estate and renamed it to “The Trump Organisation”.

Donald expanded the business from Queens and Broklyn to Manhattan. Under his leadership, The Trump Organisation took on many high profile contracts to develop/renovate skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses.

In one such project, Donald Trump converted the Commodore Hotel to Grand Hyatt. His portfolio also includes skyscrapers like Trump Palace located in Manhattan, and Trump Tower located in Fifth Avenue, New York City. Trump Tower was a dream that his father, Fred had envisioned.

The expansion didn’t stop there. Trump went on to acquire many hotels and casinos including The Plaza Hotel and Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. After that, he even entered the Airline business by acquiring Eastern Airlines. It’s name was changed to the Trump Shuttle post acquisition.

Then, during the gulf war that sent oil prices soaring, many airlines suffered, including the Trump Shuttle. As a result, it was sold to American Air, but Trump boasts of having exited the business at the right time. Meanwhile, he was also putting his name everywhere he invested.

In 1987, Tony Schwartz ghost-wrote a book titled: Trump: The Art of the Deal. This book spent 51 weeks on the New York Times’ bestseller list and, according to some reports, sold 1 million copies.

Things went really southwards in the ‘90s. As a result, his hotels and casino businesses had to file for multiple bankruptcies. But in 2004 he found his success again in a reality show called “The Apprentice”.

Trump announced his candidacy for the President in 2015. His campaigns and actions challenged the establishment and earned a perception that he’d never actually win. However, people didn’t realise that his campaigns had a deeper connection to the vast majority of the working class Americans. Their fears and their anger were all addressed by him.

On one hand you have these candidates running for the President that adhere to the code, don’t want any changes, and on the other you have a TV personality who also happens to be a Billionaire. Tells people he is the only one who can fix the system because nobody knows it better than him. Talks directly about the problems of the American people and resonates with their inner feelings.
